Our client provides market-leading packaging solutions for the food beverage industry and are looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join their team in their team located in Edinburgh. You will utilise your trade and other skills to support and enhance the performance and maintenance of machinery in a FMCG manufacturing environment.

The role

This role will be very autonomous and, varied, so, our client is seeking someone who enjoys new challenges and managing their own time with a variety of tasks.

  • Inspect, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and repair all equipment as required
  • Respond to breakdowns
  • Adjust ensure smooth operation of equipment and machinery
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance
  • Read fabricate and assemble engineering drawings with close tolerance components

    Core hours: 7:00AM - 3:30PM (Monday to Friday) On call after hours during the week and on weekends


    What you need

    Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a high volume production environment. You will need to be safety focused, physically fit and able to complete manual tasks.

    • FMCG manufacturing experience
    • Experience working with pneumatic systems
    • Experience in Arc and MIG welding
    • Experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdowns
    • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
    • Strong communication skills
    • High level of initiative and a âcan do' attitude
