Our client is a leader in the Energy sector and requires the assistance of a Senior Project Manager to lead a âGE Smallworld GIS Upgrade Projectâ as well as other projects which form part of their Networks sub-portfolio within the Assets and Operations Technology Portfolio.

The initial contract will commence between now and 31 December 2024 with the likelihood of extension.

You would be joining a Networks and Asset Management portfolio, other desired project experience include metering & billing (oracle specifically) Maximo, mobility (digitising forms and making them available on iPads) and having an understanding SDLC and have recent waterfall experience.

We are looking for customer centric Project Managers that have exceptional stakeholder management experience.

Applicants must have Oil & Gas, Energy or Utilities experience and have worked on multiple GIS upgrades and/or implementations to be considered for this role.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and guide the project team to ensure the project is delivering the required business outcomes, establishing trust and effective relationships with all stakeholders involved in the project.
    • Work closely with the project owner and sponsors to ensure the project delivers business requirements.
    • Effectively identify, engage, influence, and negotiate with key project stakeholders, internal and external including vendors, to achieve the project outcomes and benefits
    • Effective management of project delivery by keeping abreast of, and understand, project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality constraints, complying with APA processes and procedures.
    • Develop, maintain, and deliver fit for purpose project management plans and progress reporting, ensuring the appropriate alignment and allocation of resources.
    • Monitor project actuals, forecasts, and benefits against budget allocation.
    • Proactively manage key risks through mitigation strategies and contingency plans, regular monitoring and control of activities and escalate where necessary.
    • Ensure variation management is carried out in a timely manner, when any change to scope, cost and/or timeline is required.

      About you:

      • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Energy or Utilities sector is essential
      • Strong knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle
      • Project Management qualification
      • 10 years of experience in Project Management as a minimum
      • Agile AND recent waterfall experience
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders
      • Pragmatic problem solving skills
      • Strong working knowledge of GIS and GE or ESRI technologies
      • Experience working in a customer facing project environment
