YOUR ROLE

As the National Inventory Manager, based in either Truganina VIC or Orchard Hills NSW, you will serve as a central expert in guiding our ANZ Contract Logistics operations towards excellence in inventory management and control. 

This role involves spearheading initiatives and developing strategic inventory protocols. You will audit existing processes, implement industry best practices, and manage all activities critical to upholding precise inventory standards in accordance with agreed service levels. Your leadership will ensure that our inventory management practices are not only maintained but continuously enhanced, positioning our operations to achieve optimal efficiency and accuracy. 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:
 

  • Develop and implement standardised inventory control measures, tools, and reports to enhance stock accuracy across Contract Logistics
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure they are kept at optimal and accurate levels, maintaining regular communication with customers regarding inventory issues, adjustments, and reporting
  • Identify and analyse inventory discrepancies, conducting thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports on findings
  • Determine root causes of inventory issues and implement necessary amendments to procedures, systems, and processes to prevent future occurrences
  • Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders such as Finance, and Senior Management within Contract Logistics to drive and uphold best practices in inventory management and control
  • Act as the functional expert in inventory management, responsible for training and coaching teams
  • Utilise your knowledge and experience to continually develop and improve training material content, ensuring teams are equipped with the latest and most effective inventory management skills.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

Our ideal candidate has solid inventory (and people) management experience gained within a 3PL / logistics environment with a strong emphasis on change management and transformation, as well as:
 

  • Tertiary-level qualification in logistics and supply chain management, business / commerce or related field
  • Substantial experience in the management and operation of inventory systems, procedures and operational practices for multi-site operations
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving, critical reasoning, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing standardised practice across operations
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and technologies within the inventory domain. 

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
