Volvo Group Australia has an opening for a Design Engineer Electrical to join the professional collegial team at Group Truck Technology.

This role will be offered as a full-time, permanent based position. You will work closely with the Engineering Team Leader Electrical to ensure project schedules are maintained.

This role will see you develop and implement complex electrical engineering projects using several software systems.

About the role:

- Develop and complete complex electrical engineering tasks in support of areas such as projects, factory issues, quality improvements and customer adaptions
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding technical requirements for adaptation and installation and ensure a common and agreed target is maintained Work in a cross functional team to gather various demands during the design process.
- Agile way of working and planning activities during design process
- Regular follow up and reporting of task progress Conduct design reviews to ensure QDCF
- Ensure design meets all relevant standards, regulations and guidelines Create design release documentation in the Product Documentation Systems Maintain a high level of technical knowledge
- Contribute to the complete life cycle of electronic components and systems throughout the different stages
- Design component or system with maximized commonality between all vehicle models while ensuring quality, cost effectiveness and distinct functionality as required by the Volvo brands
- Subjected to software, parameters and communication protocols in vehicle systems Implement manufacturing and aftermarket friendly solutions while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Who are you?

About you:

- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent A minimum of (5) years' experience in heavy truck engineering
- Extensive previous work experience in developing electrical engineering projects Training in and understanding of FMEA principles
- Sound knowledge of engineering systems
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize
- Team player with a good work ethic and a flexible approach to work commitments. Experience with CAD software (Saber, Creo) is desirable
- Experience with JIRA software is desirable
- Intermediate user of Office 365 tools like Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word and Excel with the ability to learn new systems quickly
