HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a skilled APS5 Level Regional Security Advisor for a vital role located in NEWCASTLE NSW.
Your expertise will contribute to providing technical, professional, and operational support and advice on complex security issues. This dynamic position involves managing protective security matters and offering strategic advice for offices within a specified geographical area, with intrastate and occasional interstate travel.

About the Role
As an APS5 Level Regional Security Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing protective security advice to the Agency and strategic partners in the community.
  • Assisting in the development, maintenance, and review of protective security policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and reporting on compliance with mandatory security framework requirements.
  • Preparing, monitoring, and reviewing security plans, site security reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of Agency security through training, awareness, and education programs.
  • Overseeing security maintenance programs and troubleshooting security system issues.
  • Obtaining metrics and reporting to manage Agency security risks and emerging security issues.
  • Managing Security, Emergency Management, and Incident reporting protocols.
  • Contributing to the development, management, and delivery of protective security projects.
  • Supporting responses to operational security matters and aiding PST colleagues.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-skilled and geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build security awareness.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in providing high-level administrative support.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Australian Government protective security policies and procedures (desirable).
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams or projects (desirable).
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to foresee and mitigate potential security risks (desirable).

Please note you do need to be an AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN for this Federal Government role.
