About the Role

Reporting to the Security & Emergency Management Specialist, this is a pivotal role within the Corporate Services Risk Team. As the Security & Emergency Management Advisor you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation is equipped and trained for responding to emergency incidents - both our own, and in support of other emergency management agencies. In addition, the role will assist in ensuring physical security measures are implemented and managed across the organisation.

Typical duties will include:

Leading and delivering emergency management training across the business. Ensuring the currency of emergency management plans (contingency, business continuity, emergency response, disaster recovery) and support the plan owners to maintain currency. Coordination of emergency management exercising and plan testing. Assisting Incident Management Teams during response to emergency incidents across the business. Leading activities associated with the implementation of the organisation’s Security Management Framework, particularly with relation to physical security. Supporting the broader Risk team with administration of the Integrated Risk and Incident System (IRIS) including user queries, reporting and access permissions.

About you:

Tertiary qualifications in emergency management, or extensive experience and expertise in the emergency management and/or security fields. Familiar with the principles, structures, systems and processes adopted nationally and in Victoria in relation to security and emergency management. Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and standards relating to security and emergency management. Written and oral communication skills to foster constructive working relationships and liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders Ability to negotiate with, engage and advise all levels of individuals on emergency management and security matters
