Role description:
Due to consistent growth and with works commenced on new project wins, our Urban Development & Regeneration division is seeking a National Market Sector Lead & Technical Director to join our growing industrial property business and contribute to the strong direction and ongoing growth of the team.
You will be a technical leader in feasibility, site assessment, planning, design and project management of civil infrastructure, planning and utilities for industrial estates and developments, working with clients across the project lifecycle. This role is key to the business as you will be managing and building new client relationships and providing technical leadership for the team.
Role accountabilities:
As the National Industrial Market Sector Lead and Technical Director, you will not just be heading the team to success, you will also have the opportunity to work for an innovative consultancy firm across large scale projects. You will be working amongst a supportive team surrounded by industry leaders and professionals. At Arcadis, you are provided with a supportive work environment and culture which will enable you to have the autonomy to make the key decisions that will drive the success of the team.
Your role will include:
- Managing a wide variety of selected civil design projects and providing the team with effective leadership and technical guidance.
- Leading the design and project management of medium and large sized projects and therefore interact with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimum outcomes.
- Providing both leadership and technical advice while working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design. - Building effective relationships with clients on projects and maintaining a good understanding of the background of the client’s business and industry.
- Playing a leadership role in business development, pursuit and proposal development for industrial property clients and opportunities
- Managing commercial aspects of projects (contract, invoicing, debt management, client management etc.).
- Providing direction to the project team, leading by example and developing team members to their full potential through training, coaching and mentoring.
Qualifications & Experience:
Who are we looking for? You will come to us with:
- Extensive experience gained across urban development projects. Residential subdivisions and miscellaneous civil project experience will be advantageous.
- In depth understanding of the design of earthworks, roadworks, drainage and water sensitive urban design.
- Experience with software programs such as 12d, Tuflow, DRAINS and MUSIC are an advantage.
- Demonstrated technical and commercial acumen, as well as experience of managing and delivering design solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, and demonstrated ability to lead, influence, motivate and delegate.
