The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experience Technical Spares Assessor to join the Land Domain.

This position is a permanent, full time opportunity, based in Melbourne.

Interstate applicants must be willing to relocate for this position.

The successful candidate must hold an active AGSVA security clearance.

Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Manage the conduct of Technical Spares Assessment across the organisation
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to complete Technical Spares Assessment.
  • Perform moderately complex to complex mechanical technical activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to technical data processes and review/preparation of technical publications
  • Apply technical experience to input and review Contract Deliverables and Through Life Support artefacts
  • Provide Support to Repair Parts identification and Codification activities, including liaison with National Codification Bureau
  • Development of Complete Equipment Schedules
  • Undertake and oversee Technical Investigations and Technical Instructions relating to platform systems, including support to RODUMs
  • Work both within and to the requirements of the Authorised Engineering Organisation
  • Work to the requirements of Contractor Engineering Management Plan
  • Assist with preparation and/or review of work instructions and maintenance schedules
  • Conducting work to a high standard, including work on technical publications
  • Working within Certification Standards and established industry practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer and supplier contacts
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and assistance to team members including junior levels as and when required
  • At times provide assist with conduct Test Drives of Heavy Vehicles in accordance with Civilian Licenses and Defence qualifications
  • At times act as observer for two up test drives
  • Support to Technical Investigations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Qualified in Diesel Mechanic/Vehicle Mechanic with minimum of 4 years’ experience (Mandatory)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Defence or related technical industry related to maintenance activities (Highly Desirable)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain Medium Rigid driver’s licence and Defence Vehicle Driver Qualification (Desirable)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Mandatory)
