The Organisation:
A leading Queensland government department is currently recruiting for a Procurement and Contracts Officer across Capital Works. You will be working for an organisation where you will be working in a small and close-knit team environment. You will be reporting to a Manager who has extensive experience and a good understanding of the Queensland State Government procurement policies and framework. This role is initially a temporary position for 6 months and has the potential to be extended.  

The Position:
This role will require you to take ownership of the procurement process for capital works. You will be responsible for:

  • Working with key preferred suppliers across capital works projects.
  • Communicating directly with suppliers 
  • Documentation management to ensure an effective compliance trail
  • Managing purchase order requisitions

As this is a small team, you must have a passion for supporting your colleagues, whilst knowing you will be supported in return.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with capital works
  • Experience with Health or Queensland Government would be an advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and competence in end-to-end procurement processes.
  • Experience in delivering complex procurement processes and adapting to emergent situations.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance on risk mitigation for procurements.
