Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Contracts Administrator to join Office of Research Services, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Contracts Administrator will be responsible for providing administrative support for the Contracts Unit within the Office of Research (ORS). The administrative activities will underpin the management of contracts pertaining to research.The position will have a significant role in supporting the functions of the Contracts Unit. The position will assist the Manager, Contracts Unit to facilitate integrity, compliance and process improvement is maintained for contract development and work performed by the Contracts Unit.

The Office of Research Services provides high quality support and assistance to QUT staff, students, collaborators and partners to identify, attract and manage funding from competitive, commercial, programmatic and consultancy sources. The Office also manages the university’s research management platforms and coordinates internal and external research reporting..

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience;  completion of an associate diploma and at least two (2) years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  2. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively plan, deliver and evaluate administrative operations in a busy environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture.
  4. High level of digital literacy including the ability to navigate multiple complex information systems.
  5. Demonstrated client service skills in a high volume, fast paced environment including the ability to effectively escalate, prioritise and redirect enquiries, as necessary.
