ABOUT THE ROLE

The Scrum Master will report to the RTE and is a key member of the Agile Release Train (ART) responsible for guiding the team on SAFe principles and practices. The Scrum Master serves as a facilitator, coach, and mentor to the team, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and techniques to effectively execute their work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies: The Scrum Master facilitates the Agile ceremonies, including the daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospectives meetings. They ensure that these meetings are efficient and effective, allowing the team to collaborate and make progress towards the sprint goal. 
  • Coach the team: The Scrum Master coaches the team on Agile principles and practices, helping them to understand the SAFe framework and how it applies to their work. They provide guidance on how to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and continuously improve. 
  • Remove impediments: The Scrum Master identifies and removes impediments that are preventing the team from making progress. They work with the team to find solutions to issues that are blocking progress and ensure that the team has the necessary resources to complete their work. 
  • Foster team collaboration: The Scrum Master fosters collaboration within the team and across the ART, working closely with other Scrum Masters and teams to ensure alignment and coordination.
  • Maintain metrics: The Scrum Master maintains metrics that measure the team’s performance, including velocity, Cumulative Flow Diagrams, and other key metrics. They use these metrics to identify areas for improvement and help the team to continuously improve their processes. 

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

  • Proven experience as Scrum Master in an Agile environment, preferably SAFe for minimum 3 years;
  • Certified Scrum Master certification preferably SAFe;.
  • Ability to respond positively to change, adapting were necessary to maintain effectiveness when experiencing changes in responsibility or within our environment;
  • Ability to tailor communication styles to our audience to ensure clarity of insight and information; 
  • Build effective and self-reliant teams by developing, motivating, and inspiring others;
  • Ability to proactively champion governance, quality, and safety, speaking up and challenging inappropriate or non-compliant behaviour;
  • Demonstrate commitment to providing excellent service to all our internal or external customers and stakeholders;
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field.
