About the Company

An international manufacturing business is recruiting for a newly created Head of HR role. Based in their Melbourne CBD office, this role partners with the Country GM and HR colleagues in Asia and Europe.

About the Role

This is a highly autonomous, generalist role with a focus on HR operations, ER/IR matters, HR compliance and culture. The Head of HR will work across all levels of the organisation and serve as a trusted partner to managers and leaders by providing expert guidance regarding all aspects of HR.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Partner with managers to deliver an HR service that supports all the businesses and sites across Australia.
  • Provide advice, guidance and coaching to managers on key areas of HR.
  • Take the lead in the IR strategy and discussions with managers and unions.
  • Lead and mentor a small HR team
  • Manage HR projects and deliver key people initiatives.
  • Support the businesses in managing due diligence and integration of new businesses as well as organic growth as required.
  • Manage employee relations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing support to employees and managers in resolving issues.
  • Develop, implement and make recommendations for the refinement of HR policies and procedures.

About You

You will be a dynamic and innovative HR leader, comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth environment. You will have experience covering all HR related activities (HR operations, recruitment, compensation & benefits, employee relations and industrial relations) and have a deep understanding of Australian employment laws and regulations. Regular travel to sites will be required.
