ABOUT YOU 

As a Senior Information Security Analyst you will be conducting security assessments, ensure systems are up to date, proactively monitor security alerts and other systems for potential cyber events and/or vulnerabilities, and perform advanced analysis of potential incidents. You’ll also be called on to assist in the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of information security controls which serve to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our critical systems and data assets.

Your role as a Senior Analyst Information Security: 

  • Monitors, assesses, and assists in the continual improvement of the performance of information systems security services and controls.
  • Prioritises and diagnoses information security breaches, undertakes root cause analysis and assists in security incident investigation, resolution and prevention.
  • Reporting any potential security issues or risks to the senior security staff.
  • Coordinates, performs, and supports scheduled security scans, reviews, and compliance testing to ensure adherence to information security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Identifies and actions opportunities to improve information security controls and reduce information risk.
  • Coordinates between internal and external services providers with respect to the delivery of information security services.
  • Delivers information security awareness and education, based on standards, trends and alerts from appropriate industry and security monitoring services.
  • Provides information security policy, technical and operational advice to technical and non-technical staff across the business.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of information security policies, standards, procedures and frameworks.
  • Maintains appropriate qualifications and skill-set through continued learning and monitoring of trusted information sources.

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Deep understanding of cyber security standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO27001/2, ACSC Essential 8). 
  • Proven understanding of risk management principles
  • Proven understanding of general IT security controls
  • Knowledge and experience in providing information security services within a government or large corporate environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Studying towards industry relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS or related security certification
