Job Title: Senior Geospatial Information Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geospatial Information Analyst to join our team at the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, where you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support mining and petroleum environmental approval, compliance activities, special projects, and administration support.

You will provide advice on future directions for Geographic information systems and coordinate in the design of system specifications and technical system documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and implement GIS to support mining and petroleum environmental approval, compliance activities, special projects, and administration support.
  • Provide advice on future directions for Geographic information systems and coordinate in the design of system specifications and technical system documentation.
  • Assist in determining the information needs for various business activities and analyses, acquires, and customises geospatial data to support these activities.
  • Researches and develops techniques to process streamline operations and completion of assigned projects as per agreed schedule.
  • Investigate cartographic and digital information to respond to business queries, provide digital data services encompassing the manipulation and customisation of sources datasets for use in producing special purpose mapping and analysis products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree qualification and extensive experience in Spatial Science/mapping discipline.
  • Considerable experience in customising and enhancing GIS technologies.
  • Significant experience in managing acquiring and customising geospatial digital data.
