Job Description

Are you a seasoned COO from the meat processing sector with proven expertise in driving efficiencies through process improvement and automation and leveraging data to maximise productivity? Join this growing business and deliver real bottom-line value.

Our client just acquired this business and is looking to double meat processing capacity and expand the brand into new domestic and international markets. This will be achieved through both organic growth strategies and targeted acquisitions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre COO to business partner with the CEO and the Executive Team. You will oversee all operations of their meat processing facilities driving for maximum operational efficiency, optimising yield, minimising downtime and maintaining strict quality and compliance standards. You will lead production teams, manage budgets, and implement safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations and achieve targeted throughput of animals per shift.
  • Maximise yield and efficiency while minimizing downtime and costs.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and animal welfare standards.
  • Lead safety initiatives and maintain a zero-incident workplace.
  • Drive strategic growth and automation process improvement projects.
  • Up-skill and develop a 200-strong operations team to deliver above-industry-benchmark productivity.

The successful must be able to demonstrate the following experience and qualities:

  • Key Requirements:
    • Proven experience in food processing or abattoir operations at a COO or Senior Management level.
    • Strong track record of achieving operational KPIs.
    • Expertise in process optimisation, automation, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
    • Able to provide strong, influential, and collaborative. leadership to make and implement strategic change.
    • Demonstrable experience in achieving profit improvements.
    • Operationally focused, hands-on team player.
