As the National Sales Trainer you will be joining the broader General Motors Australia & New Zealand (GM ANZ) team, where you can bring your skills and excel in a diverse, fast-paced environment. You will have the ability to gain experience and marketability within our global corporation, which you'll be able to leverage to progress your career.
The GM ANZ National Sales Trainer in collaboration with the Sales team, is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs which will enhance the skills and knowledge of our teams throughout both the Cadillac and GM Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) Sales business units. You will be joining us at a time of very exciting growth, as we establish the Cadillac brand and an all-electric luxury portfolio, which will see direct-to-consumer sales operations, while also supporting the GMSV business, where we have a network of dealers distributing an iconic range of GM vehicles.
This role will have a heavy focus on improving customer experience, product knowledge and sales performance, while also fostering a deep understanding of the GMANZ brand culture and values, allowing this to shine through in all training programs. This position requires you to have a strong background in sales and product training, excellent communication skills, a willingness to travel and a passion for promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design and develop training materials, including manuals, e-learning modules, and workshops, tailored to the differing needs of the Cadillac D2C sales operations and GMSV’s network of dealers in liaison with the appointed training vendor.
Collaborate with GM Sales leadership to identify training needs or gaps and develop and deliver strategic training plans.
Ensure training content aligns with General Motors brand values, sales strategies, and cultural initiatives.
Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for sales teams across various Australian and New Zealand locations.
Utilise a variety of training methods, including on-site lessons, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
Promote and integrate General Motors “everybody in” corporate culture and values into all training programs.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through training and other initiatives as required.
Serve as a cultural ambassador, encouraging behaviours that reflect the company's values.
Provide ongoing coaching and support to sales and other customer facing personnel to enhance their performance and professional development.
Identify individual and team strengths and areas for improvement, offering tailored coaching solutions.
Develop action plans with GMSV Sales Managers and Cadillac Sales & Customer Experience Managers to ensure best practice delivery, address performance gaps and ensure continuous improvement.
Ensure all training programs comply with GM company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Keep abreast of the automotive industry trends and training best practices.
Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
Work closely with sales team members, GM leadership, and other departments as required to align training programs with the broader business goals.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to support overall business objectives.
An understanding of the different learning styles and how to incorporate these into training courses.

About You
You have experience in sales training, preferably within the automotive company and therefore have a strong understanding of sales processes, techniques and best practices. You have a passion in developing others skills and knowledge, as well as an innovative stance on how training can be rolled out in the automotive space.

excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
