We are looking for a Program Lead – Non Process Infrastructure (NPI) to lead and manage the delivery of a portfolio of strategic NPI projects, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and efficient use of resources. These roles are pivotal in shaping and establishing the specific program strategies including execution planning for Sustaining Capital projects.  These roles provide guidance and ensure alignment between study lead and key stakeholders throughout the program and sub-projects lifecycle. You will also provide oversight of program cost, schedule, risk, and quality.

About the role:

The role will report to the Principal of Non Process Infrastructure (NPI) category in the newly established Studies and Programs team. The program leads will be expected to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders’ across our business at a divisional level, along with our engineering partners. You will form relationships with multiple divisions Sustaining Capital supports; and as a by-product this role will attract a broad business exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Establishment : Develop a program charter to define the strategy for delivering the program that provides a consistent approach across all applicable RTIO Pilbara operations.
  • Execution Planning: Support study leads with developing program and project execution plans, for order of magnitude (OoM), pre-feasibility studies (PFS), feasibility studies (FS), implementation and commissioning phases.
  • Program Execution: Coordinate the roll out of the program with a team of Study Leads and Engineers, delivering projects across RTIO Pilbara operations.  Assess quality of study deliverables
  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with site leaders, asset owners (e.g., PMO, SCS, OTS), and contracting partners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage directly with Delivery Superintendents to ensure projects are adequately supported and resourced.
  • Communication: Provide regular communication and reporting on program metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Engage with the Sustaining Capital Strategic Sourcing team to develop procurement and contracting strategies for the program and regularly review the sourcing strategy for projects in the program. 
  • Schedule and Risk Management: Manage the program master schedule and risk register, providing updates on changes to the pipeline of works.
  • Improvement: Support the improvement of the project delivery systems, processes and procedures ensuring that they are standardised and embedded across the team.
  • Lessons Learned: Manage lessons learned across the program, ensuring effective communication of successes and proposed improvements.
  • Team Leadership: Support Study Leads, coordinating efforts between the projects and providing high level guidance to identify project issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee the development and control of deadlines, budgets, and activities.
  • Study Management: Depending on the complexity of the program and available capacity, program lead could lead a strategic study

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and processes.
  • Experience in managing budgets, resources and stakeholder relationships.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent is required (due to the specialist nature of all projects within this program);
  • Demonstrable experience in site delivery / commissioning of NPI projects

  • Delivery Teams: Coordinate efforts between projects and provide high level guidance
  • Sustaining Capital – Engineering, RTP, Project Services, Delivery
  • Senior Leadership: Approval of program charter and execution plans
  • Strategic Sourcing team: Develop procurement and contracting strategies
  • Subject Matter Experts: Inform prioritisation and alignment between MP&E, PE&MH, WRE etc.
  • Vendors/Service Providers: Engineering Partner, Suppliers/manufacturers and Implementation Contractor
  • End User: Site Operations including Site Leadership and

Where you’ll be working:

Based at Central Park, Perth, where you will be working within an integrated Project Team. This is a 5 day on 2 days off roster (Mon to Fri) with adhoc site travel. Flexible working arrangements are also available.
