Ready to step into a Junior Project Management role?  This role is ideal for someone coming from a trade background in Carpentry, Shop Fitting or Cabinet Making and have studied a Project Management course.  You are driven and know you have what it takes to move into the PM space, you just need an opportunity to prove yourself

This is a newly created opportunity where you will work under a highly experienced Project Manager and assist them with everything they do whilst you develop your PM skills.  The ultimate goal would be to develop into a fully fledged PM within the next couple of years
  
This is predominantly an office based role where the team do the site work.
  
 
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work directly under an experienced Project Manager and assist with all of their duties
  • Assist Project manage all aspects of projects – commercial shop fitting projects end to end 
  • Assist the PM manage several live projects simultaneously
  • Manage onsite OH&S
  • Assist with scheduling, prepare a project program and scope of work
  • Conduct site measures and visits throughout project schedule
  • Communicate with clients, construction managers and key personnel at all levels
  • Assist to manage all defects, variations and OH&S
  • Assist to manage all labour – scheduling, direction, leadership
  • Manage all stakeholders effectively – client, suppliers, trades etc
  • Ensure projects meet time and budget deadlines
                                 

The ideal candidate will have:
  

  • Trade background in Carpentry, Cabinet Making or Shop Fitting
  • Have completed your studies in Project Management (on on way to completing)
  • Proven experience working in commercial environment essential
  • Commercial joinery production and installation/commercial shop fitting knowledge ideal
  • Knowledge of internal fit out structure methodologies in the commercial space
  • Sound knowledge of subtrades
  • The ability to put together emails/written correspondence to clients and ability to use office and project management systems
  • This role is more inclined to be office based and the team do the site work
  • The ability to negotiate and problem solve
