We are seeking a dedicated professional for a permanent role in our Media and Communications team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging communications across multiple platforms to strengthen our engagement initiatives with both residents and staff. You'll be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating various internal and external campaigns
  • Curate, edit, and create high-quality content—including photography—for our key publications and both digital and print communications
  • Enhance the effectiveness and consistency of our communication efforts through diverse channels such as newsletters, social media, videos, and community events
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organisation, offering expert guidance on internal communications and engagement strategies to management and team members
  • Assist the Senior Coordinator of Communications and the wider team as needed, contributing to various projects and initiatives

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a communication-focused role
  • Proven experience in crafting successful internal and external communication strategies that align with organisational goals
  • In-depth understanding of communication within a governmental or political setting
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines and objectives independently
  • Demonstrated capacity to implement innovative systems and procedures for effective stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in developing and promoting brand strategies and identities
  • Familiarity with local government operations
  • Skills in photography and video production
  • Proficiency in a second language is a plus
