Our client is seeking a Principal Project Manager to manage the implementation of a replacement IT solution for administering Queensland's waste disposal levy. A current bespoke IT system is to be replaced with a contemporary 'modular' solution of fit-for-purpose and integrated applications that are part of the department's existing digital platform. As such, our client is looking for a capable and engaged Principal Project Manager with experience in successfully implementing ICT projects in an Agile environment.

What you will do..

  • Manage the successful delivery of a high-profile project to ensure project objectives, outcomes and benefits are achieved
  • Lead and manage a team of project and business resources, including business analysis, change management, training and subject matter experts
  • Inspire team members by investing time in building positive and productive relationships, setting clear objectives and providing professional leadership, guidance and support.
  • Work with our internal delivery partner to monitor their delivery performance from a business perspective
  • Develop, implement and maintain all project documentation and apply appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
  • Proactively monitor, control and report on project implementation performance and trends against project documentation, deliverables and schedules.
  • Proactively manage risks and issues by ensuring they are promptly identified, assessed, communicated, documented and escalated as appropriate.
  • Manage the project's governance arrangements and key stakeholders through project delivery status meetings and Project Board meetings, which will include pre-briefs, papers and/or presentations as relevant
  • Represent the project at senior levels and establish and sustain mutually productive relationships with project stakeholders.

What you will bring..

  • High-level ICT project management knowledge and skills, particularly Agile
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing ICT projects through to project closure and benefits realisation
  • Proven communication, consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills for use in a high-profile and complicated project environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to quickly build and maintain relationships.
  • While not mandatory, project management qualifications would be well regarded.
