Business Advisor

Primary purpose 

The Business Advisor prepares management reports, budgets, and forecasts and provides advice and insights on complex work issues and other analytical support services to a range of stakeholders. The Business Advisor is also an expert user and supports the use of critical information systems and ensures the accuracy of systems and financial data to support business unit financial and business performance in line with corporate goals and Government objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare and update performance reporting and monthly forecasting analytical models for divisions, entities and cost centres to support an effective review of business performance and ongoing forecast processes
  • Identify, provide recommendations and implement agreed reporting and process enhancements to ensure desired business outcomes for stakeholders are achieved.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget to facilitate the allocation of funding in line with corporate goals and Government objectives.
  • Prepares advice on complex financial and related issues in the form of briefs, reports and papers to respond to Departmental requests for information.
  • Establishes and fosters productive consultative relationships with stakeholders and clients to support and meet performance reporting requirements and forecasting analytical models
  • Provide analytical support services to respond to client requests and support business case development and decision making.
  • Identify and deliver finance and related initiatives in partnership with other stakeholders and teams to build performance that supports people and business objectives.

Role:
• Develop reporting in Power BI from SAP 4HANA
• General data management in supporting the wider management accounting team

Challenges:
• Understanding the National Parks SAP architecture
• Stakeholder engagement to understand reporting requirements
• Complex organization

Essential Criteria:
• Qualified accountant
• SAP 4HANA and Power BI experience
• Experience with large data sets
