About this opportunity

This growth role is required to develop and implement MEX (CMMS) system and to carry out planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities including spare parts inventory management (including procurement, issuing and stock take) at Pact's Jalco Australia site at Horsley Park

As a Maintenance Planner, you are responsible for the planning of all maintenance tasks and will work closely with other maintenance personnel as well as operations, production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities, and conduct inspections of equipment and systems in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

This position is responsible for aligning the maintenance activities with production schedule and to negotiate with production/operations team to block time for implement Preventative maintenance (PM) and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

 

  • Develop and implement MEX CMMS Software (including Asset Listing, Populating PM’s as per OEM specs).
  • Develop schedules and planning strategies to upkeep and maintain plant equipment.
  • Co-ordinate and monitor  equipment maintenance
  • Work Order, PM, CM, CI and breakdown workflow management.
  • Manage maintenance stocks – Spares, consumables, rotables and repairs.
  • Apply 5S methodologies in workshop environment.
  • Liaise with Production and Planning team to ensure PM's are aligned to production schedule.
  • Maintenance resource allocation and cost analysis.
  • Work with vendors and contractors to evaluate and ensure materials conform to specifications and are of acceptable quality.
  • Analyse the risk of failure, inspect and test plant machinery and equipment.
  • Support corrective actions and initiate preventive measures for any reoccurrence of equipment failure.
  • Ensuring all contractors that come on site have been formerly inducted with permits and JSEAs filled out correctly.
  • Responsible for assets and maintenance of engineering department and general plant.
  • Ensure the improvement and maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs or service, in collaboration with Production and Operations team.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  •  Solid tenure of prior experience in Maintenance Planning role.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, planning and negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge in troubleshooting and fault finding.
  • Must have working experience in Mechanical/FMCG environment.
  • Proven experience in shutdown planning.
  • Experience in understanding detailed P&ID, Pneumatic and Electrical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of Maintenance, Process, Production and TPM strategies.
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and work under pressure at times.
  • Ability to prepare budgets and control expenditures.
  • Strong pro-active and can-do attitude.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Trade qualification in Maintenance and/or Asset Management 
  • Advanced SAP and Excel experience
  • A formal qualification in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing related discipline
  • A Production Planning background, ideally gained within a FMCG or Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
