We are seeking a unique role for a candidate with chef / cook / kitchen hand training or advanced food preparation to work 1:1 on Friday afternoons with a vision impaired client living in St Kilda.

The Role

Candidates must have some commercial kitchen training, preferably have some training in knife skills and be experienced in safely preparing food. Training in working as a Support Worker (no personal care required) is available if this where you would like to acquire new skills. To be successful, applicants must have a high proficiency of spoken and written English along with high attention to detail.

You will be required to provide or acquire NDIS Worker documentation, registration, and certification. Registration through NDIS Worker Screening Check is mandatory for all employees of NDIS Registered Providers before commencing work.

Requirements

Candidates must be confident in their skills but also able to take direction as to the preferred techniques of the client:

  • Chef / cook / advanced food preparation (commercial kitchen or training)
  • Familiar with preparing Chinese, Japanese, Indian & Italian cuisines
  • Available every or every other Friday afternoon to start between 12pm and 1pm until 4pm to 5pm from 20/01/2022
  • Have or be willing to secure police and NDIS clearance certificates and first aid and be able to provide 100 points ID
  • Enjoy chatting about different foods from around the world (well-travelled is a real plus

1 x 4 to 5 hour shift Fridays 12 pm to 4pm to 5pm (every Friday or every other Friday)

Starting 20/01/2023​

Hourly Pay Rates (excl. Super)

* Weekday $31.90 per hour
