Position Details

Leschenault Catholic Primary School is a double stream school catering for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year Six. We are a C.H.R.I.S.T centred community that inspires every individual to think, to learn and to strive for academic excellence. Our school improvement journey is guided by current research into best teaching practice. We have an effective School Improvement Team who oversee the teaching programs to ensure consistency and fidelity across the school. Current programs implemented are: Pre-Lit/Initia-Lit (K-2), Heggerty Phonemic Awareness (K-2), Mini-Lit/Macqlit (1-6), Talk for Writing (K-6), Talk for reading (3-6) and Spelling Mastery (3-6).

We are seeking a dynamic and committed Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. The Assistant Principal will collaborate closely with the Principal and other members of the leadership team to uphold the Catholic ethos of our school while driving academic excellence, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the holistic development of our students

Selection Criteria:

Catholic Identity: Expertise and knowledge in ensuring Catholic faith is integrated into all aspects of school life and demonstrated commitment to ethos and mission of Catholic Education. Ability to lead Sacramental Programs, Mass and liturgies and to work collaboratively with staff, parish and priests.

Education: Proven ability to lead and inspire colleagues in implementing effective pedagogical practices and developing a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement. Capacity to use data and reflection to lead professional learning to raise student levels of achievement and drive strategic planning and school focus. Expertise in supporting Special Needs/Inclusion Support students.

Community: Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills fostering positive relationships with parents, parish and wider community stakeholders, and experience in supporting student safety and wellbeing. Expertise in partnering with parents and engaging parents in the learning and life of the school.

Stewardship: Administrative and strategic expertise in implementing governance and system requirements to guide and support staff in creating thriving and safe learning environments that supports and fosters student faith, learning and wellbeing. Understanding of educational regulations and frameworks (EYLF, WA Curriculum, NQS, AITSL) to guide and support staff development and expertise.
