About the role
The Administrative Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth financial- and operational functioning of our manufacturing processes. This position involves a blend of financial administration, operational oversight, and administrative support to help us maintain efficiency and profitability.
Duties
Reporting to the Plant Accountant, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Financial Management:
- Provide the Plant Accountant with administration and month-end result reporting support.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payment and invoicing.
- Company card purchases and administration.
Operations Support:
- Manage inventory levels and supply chain logistics (ordering and stock maintenance of consumables)
- Oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials.
- Support the implementation and management of operational policies and procedures.
- Provide site support for safety and environmental initiatives.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of financial and operational activities.
- Assist with HR functions, including payroll support and employee records management as required.
- Provide admin support for the remote Stores, sales offices, and site operations.
- Reception and general site administration support.
- Perform any other duties identified as required by Plant Accountant
What you will bring to the team
- Completed Grade 12
- Diploma in either Logistics or Accounting (Management Accounting) would be advantageous.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with purchasing and finance would be preferred.
- Have a sound business acumen.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
