We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Social Worker to join our team in a rural generalist and palliative care role. Broad Purpose of the Position

As a Social Worker in this rural generalist and palliative care role, you will apply your clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate integrated care services. You will be a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with healthcare professionals and service providers to ensure that the needs of the local rural or remote community are met with compassion and quality care. Your responsibilities will include providing individual and group therapy, early intervention, preventative strategies, and facilitating a range of support services.

Working under reduced clinical direction, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of other allied health professionals, including mentoring students and less experienced staff. This role provides a great opportunity for professional growth and to make an impact in the rural and remote healthcare sector.

Essential Criteria

  • A recognised qualification in Social Work and eligibility for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in social work, particularly within a rural and/or palliative care context
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with a variety of healthcare and community service providers
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate a range of services to meet client needs
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and manage complex cases
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Commitment to professional development and participation in AASW Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accreditation program (desirable)
