Sydney, Australia CPB Contractors Pty Limited Full time

The Project

The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.

With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

The Opportunity

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Workforce Development and Aboriginal Participation Advisor to join the M6 Stage 1 team on a part-time basis. Please note this is a six-month max-term contract.

Based in Mascot, this role will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of Workforce Development and Aboriginal Participation strategies for the project.

The key responsibilities will include;

Supporting the implementation of the Workforce Development and Aboriginal Participation Plans for the project with a focus on building capability for identified groups including youth, women in construction, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and other underrepresented groups. Working with community stakeholders, subcontractors and the client on the delivery of programs to drive opportunities in line with industry and client requirements. Managing various reporting requirements in line with parent company and client requirements – this includes analysis and collating of data, and presentation of information in a clear and concise format. Coaching and guiding project staff on the engagement of employees and subcontractors to support the achievement of the Workforce Development strategies.

About You

Experience in a similar role within the construction industry would be highly regarded. Demonstrated capability in the delivery of programs for disadvantaged groups with sustainable outcomes. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence outcomes in a fast-paced working environment. Intermediate MS Office skills. Advanced communication and facilitation skills.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

We value the unique perspectives and talents that our people bring to the construction industry and are committed to empowering and supporting their career growth. As this is a unique role with a big focus on Aboriginal Participation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

We are also committed to optimising flexible work through our Ways of Working initiative. We encourage our people to work together with their teams to determine mutually beneficial ways of working.

Please note: This role is being sourced through CGU JV directly and we will not accept applications via external recruitment agencies.
