**What you'll be doing**:
In this role you will be aligning with National, State and Local strategies to close the health gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in NSW by attracting, developing and sustaining more Aboriginal people to work across all health professions and services within NBMLHD. Additionally, you will be undertaking project management of the NBMLHD’s Aboriginal employee lifecycle initiatives including: planning; identifying and coordinating resources; stakeholder identification and consultation; budget development; defining performance measures and monitoring of key milestones; negotiating reporting requirements; working with stakeholders to identify internal and external funding to support implementation. As a part of this project management function you will be defining strategies and organisational objectives to increase Aboriginal workforce participation, developing and implementing initiatives and projects related to the whole employee lifecycle, including: attraction, recruitment, on-boarding, development, retention and separation.

**Selection criteria to be addressed**:

- Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. NBMLHD considers that being Aboriginal is a genuine occupational qualification under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal communities and communication / cross-communication protocols with a high level of awareness and understanding of the sensitives and current issues affecting Aboriginal communities
- Tertiary qualifications in health, human resources or organisational development and / or relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and administer policies, projects and programs which impact Aboriginal employment and workforce planning
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills including demonstrated capacity to consult and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to interpret and analyse complex information with advanced skills in data management and utilisation for problem solving and planning
- A sound understanding of the challenges and priorities within the NSW
