Role Description/Criteria

Position Overview:

The Learning and Teaching (Literacy and Numeracy) Leader at Good Shepherd School is integral to creating a dynamic and effective learning environment that aligns with the Catholic educational vision and values. 

A key component of the role is leading the MACS Vision for Instruction in partnership with the Executive Leadership Team at Good Shepherd. The Vision for Instruction is grounded in rich cognitive science and identifies the most effective teaching methods supported by evidence of the positive impact on student outcomes.

This role focuses on enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across the school, with particular emphasis on literacy and numeracy development. 

The position involves leading curriculum design, professional development, student achievement monitoring, and community engagement, including overseeing intervention programs in partnership with The Learning Diversity Leader and managing key assessment processes. Additionally, the role includes working with a Learning Support team of staff (intervention and extension) and providing training for Learning Support Officers (LSOs).

Requirements all applicants must have:

  • Current VIT registration or equivalent 
  • Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (preferable)
  • Commitment to uphold the Child Safe Standards
