The Role

Applications are invited from qualified classroom teachers for a specialist role teaching Middle School, General, Methods or Specialist Mathematics at our Wheelers Hill Campus (Years 7-12). VCE experience is essential. Reporting to the Learning Area Leaders, this will be an exciting opportunity for any prospective applicant to join our dynamic Maths team, building a rich curriculum for students at Caulfield Grammar School. This is a permanent, full-time position, commencing Term 1, 2025. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for engaging and challenging students, a strong desire to keep learning about mathematics and developing their teaching and will be comfortable utilising learning technologies. They will demonstrate a commitment to quality curriculum and a genuine interest in pastoral care. 

There is potential for the successful applicant to lead, support and facilitate the Mathematics faculty in 2025 (12 months, fixed-term) as Learning Area Leader (Years 10-12) via a time release. We are looking for an exemplary teacher with strong leadership skills and a genuine interest in pastoral care.  

Key Duties

  • Deliver learning programs that demonstrate a research-based knowledge of how students learn, including integrating formative practice and providing continuous feedback 
  • Prepare instructional activities that facilitate engaging and appropriate learning opportunities for all 
  • Review and assess students at the beginning of each program to provide a flexible program that caters for individual students  
  • Provide reports within school standards and timelines
  • Embrace a culture of collaboration to enhance student learning
  • Contribute to our visible wellbeing program to enable students to thrive and belong 
  • Actively participate in professional development activities
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours 

Skills and Experience

  • Holds a current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
  • Has sound mathematical knowledge and demonstrated experience teaching Middle School and VCE Mathematics (General, Methods or Specialist)  
  • Experience leading and developing a team will be highly regarded 
  • Is values-driven, works collaboratively with others, and has strong interpersonal skills 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional development  
  • An understanding of the IB Middle Years Program will be highly regarded
