The Role   

Join our esteemed educational institution as we seek a highly qualified classroom teacher to fill a fixed term, full-time vacancy in our Digital Technology learning area, commencing mid-term 1 until the end of 2025 at our Wheelers Hill Campus.  

The ideal candidate will exhibit a profound passion for Digital Technology, with expertise in teaching Applied Computing/Software Development. They will captivate and stimulate students through innovative learning technologies and forward-thinking teaching practices. We seek an individual with high energy and enthusiasm, dedicated to creating dynamic and engaging learning environments. As part of our team, they will work collaboratively to achieve learning area goals, inspiring students and fostering their creativity and problem-solving skills.

Key Duties 

  • Review and assess students at the beginning of each program   
  • Integrate Formative Assessment Techniques   
  • Provide a flexible program that caters for individual students   
  • Deliver learning programs that demonstrate research based knowledge of how students learn   
  • Evaluate personal teaching and learning programs including feedback from students and assessment data to inform planning   
  • Model high expectations to enable a safe and supportive classroom culture   
  • Provide continuous feedback within school standards and guidelines  
  • Actively participate in professional development activities   
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.    

Skills and Experience  

  • Demonstrated experience teaching Digital Technology to Years 7-12 
  • Be able to use and teach phyton and java script 
  • Passion for development of innovative digital technologies curriculum.     
  • Knowledge and experience with programming languages  
  • Knowledge and experience with microcontrollers and physical computing desirable.  
  • Knowledge and experience teaching in a workshop or 'makerspace' desirable.  
  • An understanding of IB philosophy and the MYP curriculum framework is a strong advantage.
  • Keen interest in promoting gender equality and inclusivity within digital technologies futures
  • Hold a Teaching Qualification and current VIT Registration
