About the Opportunity:
John Paul College is seeking dedicated and innovative Industrial Technology and Design Technology teachers to join our team in 2025. As a Secondary Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the skills and knowledge of our students through hands-on learning and thoughtful design instruction.
The successful candidates will be instrumental in developing inclusive, innovative learning environments that inspire student engagement and achievement. They will also be expected to embody the College Ethos, recognizing each student's individual potential and fostering their development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Industrial Technology and Design Technology subjects to secondary students
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and improve teaching practices
- Participate in staff meetings, curriculum development sessions, and extracurricular activities
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Expertise in using technology and digital tools in the classroom, including CAD software and workshop equipment
- Sound organizational and classroom management skills, with a focus on safety and student well-being in practical settings
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- A dedication to continuous professional development to remain at the forefront of educational practices in Industrial and Design Technology
