About the Job

Work with the Senior Manager Operational Risk and Compliance to develop, implement, maintain and monitor the Rest Risk Management Framework across the Rest’s Investments business, demonstrating and embodying a sound risk culture, and meeting Rest’s legislative and regulatory obligations. 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager Operational Risk and Compliance:

  • Lead, manage and execute the Control Testing Program which includes: development, review and documentation of controls in conjunction with the Investment businesses, and completion of design effectiveness and operational effectiveness testing.
  • Support theSenior Manager (OR&C) by performing the following activities:
  • Documenting outcomes from Operational Risk Assessments, and Delivered Risk Assessments (Projects/Change).
  • Completing Regular Risk Reporting, analysis, monitoring, actions, and information.
  • Audit Item, Issues, and Risk Event management, coordination, analysis, and maintenance.
  • Developing Operational Risk Training Material.
  • Driving continuous improvement and to strengthen risk maturity and performance.

Qualifications

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, law, economics, business or equivalent
  • (Desirable) Membership of a professional body such as the Risk Management Institute of Australia or the GRC Institute

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

  • Demonstrated and proven experience in operational risk and compliance management in the financial services industry (ideally investment management and/or superannuation)
  • Thorough demonstrated experience of Control Testing, Control Methodologies, and have extensive experience and a proven track record with control testing and assurance activities. 
  • Thorough understanding of, and experience of developing and implementing and reporting on, risk and compliance management tools, techniques and best practice methodologies
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and prioritising competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ‘commercial’ approach to compliance risk management
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with sound oral and written communications skills
