A temporary full time position commencing 5 September 2024 until 1 November 2024

This position consists of teaching a small class of K-2 students who are on the autistic spectrum. The successful applicant would be responsible for creating a welcoming, safe and supportive environment conducive to meeting the particular learning needs of the students enrolled in the support setting.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

be an active and committed Catholic or demonstrate a willingness to support the ethos of the Catholic school demonstrate an ability to provide appropriate intervention to meet the learning needs of students on the autistic spectrum demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with all support staff, teachers in regular classes parent(s)/carer(s) and external agencies and the wider community demonstrate an understanding of positive behaviour approaches and an ability to develop and maintain a positive, innovative approach to support students with challenging behaviours show an ability to develop, implement and monitor quality personalised learning plans, including quality literacy and numeracy practices, that will enhance students ability to access the general curriculum.

The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:

Well-developed interpersonal skills. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organisational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K6. The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
