The Animal Referral Hospital in Wollongong is a well-established small animal emergency hospital providing emergency and overnight care for the entire Illawarra region. Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill and injured patients during busy periods, prioritizing their comfort and safety.
  • Collaborate with our skilled veterinary team to deliver timely and effective emergency treatments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Monitor patients closely, administer medications accurately, and assist with medical procedures as needed, adhering to hospital protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, reflecting the exceptional level of care provided to our patients.
  • Offer empathetic support and guidance to pet owners during stressful situations, providing reassurance and expert advice.

Your Ideal Profile:

  • Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Previous experience working with complex emergency cases, showcasing your ability to remain calm under pressure and think critically.
  • A strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care, even in fast-paced environments, driven by your desire to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively interact with colleagues, veterinarians, and clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A friendly, team-player attitude, embracing collaboration and mutual respect within our close-knit team.
  • Flexibility to work across various shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and public holidays, as part of a rotating roster, ensuring our patients receive consistent care.
  • A willingness to continuously educate and upskill, staying abreast of the latest developments and advancements in veterinary nursing.
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to multitask, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
