Your Role:

As a Senior Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you'll provide expert, evidence-based clinical advice to individuals with disabilities, their families, and support teams. Your expertise will help reduce the impact of challenging behaviours through innovative strategies and a deep understanding of contemporary behaviour support practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Mentor: Guide the Positive Behaviour Support team, ensuring professional development and high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct Assessments: Identify root causes of challenging behaviours and develop tailored, effective strategies.
  • Coaching & Support: Empower families, support workers, and managers to enhance their skills in implementing behaviour support plans.
  • Data Monitoring: Analyse data to assess and adjust behaviour support plans as necessary.
  • Achieve Targets: Meet operational, clinical, legal, and financial performance goals.

What You Bring:

  • Qualifications: Master’s Degree or in-progress qualification in allied health or social/behavioural sciences.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2.5 years in Positive Behaviour Support, particularly with individuals with challenging behaviours and intellectual disabilities.
  • Skills:
    • High-level interpersonal skills, especially in emotionally charged situations.
    • Excellent communication abilities for building relationships and addressing sensitive issues.
    • Strong problem-solving skills within the PBS framework.

Additional Requirements:

  • Current QLD Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check, Disability Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain.
  • NDIS Practitioner registration.

Highly Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields.
  • Experience with individuals with high and complex needs.
