Job Advert: Signal Processing Engineer (Senior Preferred)

This company specializes in the development and manufacture of advanced sonar systems and acoustic sensors for a variety of applications, including defence, security, and underwater exploration. Their products range from portable devices to large-scale systems and are used by customers around the world. The company is known for its innovative technology and expertise in underwater acoustics. They also provide comprehensive support and training to ensure their customers can make the most of their products.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development of our sonobuoy systems product space, particularly in our network/RF systems. This involves a software/hardware mix and requires a broad range of technical skills. Our products range from portable devices to large-scale systems and are used by customers around the world.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in algorithm/math/physics, with experience in the following technical skills (in priority order):

  • Experience with embedded systems (host software device control)
  • Experience with RF systems hardware (VHF, UHF)
  • Real-time processing (on Linux) experience
  • C++ design and implementation skills (product code bases)
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator
  • Network understanding/experience (distributed systems over Ethernet)
  • Experience with hardware testing processes
  • Python experience (simulation/test frameworks)
  • Linux experience (application programming/deployment)
  • Windows experience (application programming/deployment)

To be eligible for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and be able to obtain NV1 clearance.
