About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Approvals to join the Rail Maintenance Integration team based at 7 Mile, Karratha.

Leading the Approvals and Heritage strategy for Rail Maintenance, the Superintendent Approvals manages the overall Approval Request process and the complex program of works required to safely facilitate maintenance and renewals of the rail network. The role is the primary contact for all internal and external stakeholders relating to approvals.

The role offers the right individual the opportunity to work on industry leading innovative projects and lead a team of high performing professionals.

Working FIFO or Residential on a 5:2 4:3 roster reporting to the Manager Rail Maintenance Integration, you will:

  • Oversee the delivery of the Approvals Request process for Rail Maintenance
  • Lead, inspire and develop a diverse high performing team
  • Identify and implement simplification and process improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with a complex group of stakeholders and functions to deliver quality outcomes
  • Lead the material circular economy reuse program
  • Collate and present Environment, Approvals, Communities and Heritage information to stakeholders
  • Identify and sequence all survey and external approval requirements
  • Lead productivity improvement within the team

To succeed in this role, you will have: 

  • WA “C Class” drivers’ licence
  • Environmental, Heritage or Approvals experience desirable
  • Experience leading high performing and diverse teams
  • Rail or linear asset management experience desirable
  • Ability to problem solve independently and think strategically
  • Experience managing complex programs of work
  • Demonstrated experience translating technical data to practical executable documents
  • Ability to work in high pressure environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and cost control
  • Ability to balance staff and resource allocation between high priority and strategic work
  • Experience in leading projects

Where you will be working

Karratha based role, however there will be a requirement to travel and work within our Perth offices .
