About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Clough. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our projects, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement construction schedules, personnel charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Control expenditures in assigned area for labor, equipment, material, and services, and ensure field operations are within budget.
  • Supervise personnel in assigned area of responsibility and coordinate activities with other disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress and ensure timely installation of modules, interconnecting components, and stick-built commodities.
  • Provide leadership for safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project.
  • Coordinate with General Superintendent and interface managers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and take an active role in current and look-ahead schedules.
  • Perform work in a brownfield area, liaise with operations to perform this work.
  • Communicate with operations on interface work activities.
  • Responsible for conducting area-wide schedule, interface, and performance meetings with all associated disciplines superintendents.
  • Set area priorities and resolve conflicts between disciplines.
  • Resolve problems and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and others to ensure appropriate solutions are determined and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Monitor activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Implement corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines or areas and clients' resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.
  • Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with Clough and local/national safety codes, requirements, and standards within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensure the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operation.
  • Actively participate in scheduled safety meetings.
  • Demonstrate leadership in a team-based environment.
  • Ensure the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensure all milestone dates are completed as scheduled.
  • Ensure all construction activities meet quality and workmanship standards.
  • Ensure required permits are in place prior to the start of the work at site.
  • Monitor quantity reporting.
  • Perform general housekeeping of the work area.
  • Conduct pre-start and end-of-shift meetings.
  • Perform performance management.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in marine, structures, dredging, civil, construction, earthworks, services, or piling.
  • Strong supervision experience, including the ability to lead and manage change.
  • Effective communication skills, crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
  • Previous direct hire experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil construction.
  • Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating contractors and vendors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy industrial civil/piping/mechanical/electrical facility installations.
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
  • Knowledge of the project's HSE handbook, the supervisor's HSE manual, the project safety management plan, and Clough's Target Zero process.
