We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Environment Advisor to join our HSEH team in the Perth office for a fixed term 12 month period (with possibility of extension) on a Full Time basis. Hybrid working options are available.

Reporting to the National Environment & Heritage Lead, you'll have a unique role working on a variety of energy infrastructure assets, including wind and solar projects. Your responsibilities will include supporting the day-to-day compliance of asset environmental obligations, delivering innovative APA environmental initiatives, and contributing to the National Environment strategy at a regional level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure environmentally compliant business activities within the region and promote a positive environmental culture through training and coaching

  • Supporting operations and facilitating an environmentally compliant approach to business activities within the region of responsibility (WA/SA)

  • Provide expert advice and support on environmental requirements, risks, and management measures, including overseeing specialist consultants

  • Support environmental risk assessments, approvals for new assets/projects, and prepare Environment and Cultural Heritage Management Plans

  • Facilitate and deliver technical environmental reporting obligations and support national reporting requirements

  • Engage with environmental regulators, deliver the regional environmental assurance program, and participate in environment committees and forums

  • Supporting the National Environment Lead and Head of Environment and Heritage in delivering national reporting obligations

Your background

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science / engineering / management or equivalent (essential)

  • Experience in Gas, Linear Infrastructure, Energy, Mining or other heavy industries (preferred)

  • Working knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001)

  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (preferred)

  • Sound knowledge and interpretation of environmental law and environmental regulatory frameworks

  • Knowledge and experience in executing environment activities for mid to large size organisations
