The Role
We are looking for a candidate who can lead, manage and continuously improve the Health, Safety, Environment and Community performance of our Northern Australia operations. A great opportunity across our Phosphate Hill and Mount Isa sites that include mining and manufacturing environments.
Core Accountabilities Include:
Lead the Northern Australia operations HSEC function by ensuring that HSEC risks are adequately identified and treated via the strategic application of a safety management system, within the relevant regulatory framework Spearhead the development of a mindful, challenging, just leadership culture and embed core HSE behaviours and attitudes throughout Guide, develop and maintain a high performing HSE team by ensuring that all safety team members are sufficiently skilled, qualified, enabled and motivated to succeed in their roles and to deliver against HSE function objectives Identify, develop and drive delivery of significant improvements in Health, Safety and environmental performance Coordinate the rigorous, disciplined application of Company HSE Standards, as well as applicable Acts and Regulations.What you’ll bring
Relevant professional qualification in Health & Safety or Environment Experience working in metalliferous mining within Queensland Experience working within a major hazard facility or chemical processing plant would be desired Familiarity with Queensland health and safety legislation and regulators A good understanding of process safety and a high level of leadership skills and experienceIf you are excited about the role and think you have what it takes but your experience doesn’t align 100% we still want to hear from you.

Northern Australian Operations consists of an Ammonium Phosphate Mine and Processing Plant (Phosphate Hill) and Sulphuric Plant (Mt Isa) in North Queensland. The facilities comprise of ammonia, beneficiation, phosphoric acid, granulation and sulphuric acid plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.
