Job Description 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities: 

  • Participate in the strategic planning and management of the site
  • Own and drive the Continuous Improvement cycle for the Warehouse
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the warehouse team across day and afternoon shift as they execute the daily operational plan to sustainably meet agreed KPI’s in Safety, Efficiency, Quality and customer service.
  • Staff management with a focus on future proofing the business.
  • Inventory control in line with agreed standards, evidenced through audited reports including Warehouse space utilization.
  • Performance management for individuals and the team.
  • Asset Management to maximise ROI.
  • Responsible for site security
  • Effective management of relationships both internally and externally.

Rail to road, dry freight, refrigerated or bulk, SCT Logistics provides Australia’s most efficient and independent freight services. Established in 1974 by Peter Smith, SCT is now a national, multi-modal transport and logistics company. In June 1995 SCT Logistics became the first private rail operator to commence services on the interstate rail network which coincided with the completion of the standardisation of the rail gauge track between the states in Australia.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Suitable qualifications in Logistics and Management.
  • Previous experience in managing a warehouse, preferably in a FMCG environment.
  • Culture and change management experience.
  • Experience in the application of Continuous Improvement methodology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of organisational and time management skills
  • Computer literacy including MS Office suite.
  • Excellent understanding of warehousing systems such as WMS and SAP.
  • Excellent Customer Management skills
  • Analytical skills suitable for this position.

Desirable 

  • Master’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business management.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Accreditation or qualification in Lean Management.
  • Ability to ensure OHS requirements are met
