About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow (Level A or Level B) with expertise in quantum processes and quantum computing.
Level A: Focused on contributing to the University’s research efforts and developing research expertise through defined projects. Level B: Conducting independent and/or collaborative research, further developing expertise within the field.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on complex quantum processes, particularly using the process tensor formalism, and leverage practical quantum computing experience. Simulate complex quantum processes on quantum computers to uncover exotic dynamical phenomena. Co-supervise students and provide guidance in programming on quantum computers. Build and sustain long-term quantum computing and simulation capabilities at Monash University.
About You
You will bring:
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Maths, or Physics Expertise in one or more of the following areas: complex quantum processes, quantum error corrections, tensor networks, optimisation and machine learning, and developing software infrastructure Some experience in quantum engineering, quantum computing, and/or quantum information sciences A deep understanding of quantum algorithms and/or experience with quantum hardware will also be beneficial. A passion for innovation and advancing knowledge at the intersection of complex quantum noise, quantum error correction, and quantum computing. Proven ability to collaborate within research teams and engage in mentoring students.This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to cutting-edge quantum research while fostering the next generation of quantum scientists.
