Research Fellow Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our team in the Laboratory of Translational Immunology at Monash University. As a Research Fellow, you will contribute intellectually to our research program, which spans from basic science investigations to studying patient-derived samples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and team-based research, producing conference papers and publications
- Supervise research assistants and mentor junior researchers
- Lead or contribute to grant proposals and funding applications
- Assist with postgraduate student supervision and occasional teaching
- Manage a research budget of up to $50,000 AUD annually
- Attend conferences, seminars, and relevant professional activities
- Contribute to administrative and departmental meetings and committees
Requirements:
- Qualifications: PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, computer science or a related field
- Expertise: Proven experience in molecular biology, immunology, bioinformatic or protein degradation research, with a track record of publications and statistical analysis
- Leadership and ambition: Strong mentoring and supervisory experience, with leadership potential
- Collaboration: Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with analytical software (R, Python, MATLAB), along with strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Organisational & Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, along with high-level organisational and problem-solving abilities
