About Us:
Anglicare Sydney is a leading and highly regarded community NFP organisation in Australia.
Our vision is to see Jesus Christ honoured, lives enriched and communities strengthened. To achieve this, we are looking to attract the most capable and mission aligned people to join us.
For over 160 years Anglicare has been serving people in need- providing care to older people and services to the vulnerable. We began because of people who saw a need in the community and who were compelled to make a difference. People motivated by Christian love and a passion to serve. If this describes you, we would love to invite you to join us
We are pleased to be recruiting this new and exciting role as a Policy Officer. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for ensuring that non-clinical policies and procedures at Anglicare are appropriate, up to date and reviewed regularly.
Truly passionate, dedicated and authentic people make up our highly respected organisation. Our small and dynamic Legal and Governance team is engaged, vibrant and outcomes driven. It’s a terrific time to join this team including with significant pending regulatory change in the aged care sector. In addition to policy work, there is opportunity in this role to do other work types including paralegal work.
This is a permanent full-time position with flexible working arrangements on offer. Consideration would be given to candidates who would prefer to work either full time or part-time (minimum 4 days a week).
The role’s key duties and responsibilities include:
Ensure that all Anglicare Non-Clinical Policies and Procedures are consistent, written in plain English and aligned with Anglicare’s values.
Maintain all policies and procedures on the intranet (Connect), including collaborating on the development of an appropriate platform for governance efficiencies.
Develop and maintain Anglicare’s Non-Clinical Policy Register.
Coordinate the approval process for Non-Clinical Policies and Procedures, including Board approvals as required.
Coordinate with the Clinical Governance Team to maintain consistency in processes with clinical policies and procedures.
Collaborate with stakeholders within Anglicare to ensure that policies and procedures are appropriately drafted and fit for purpose.
Collaborate with the Internal Communications team to ensure that policies and procedures are communicated appropriately to relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with IT and HR for continuous improvement of access to policies and procedures on the Anglicare intranet.
Provide administrative and paralegal support (e.g. managing execution of documents under power of attorney and assisting with responses to subpoenas and requests for information).
Your experience and competencies should include demonstrated experience in a similar role drafting policies and procedures, advanced written communication skills (including writing for an English as a second language audience), project management skills, experience with working with technology and the ability to influence stakeholders. Experience in aged care and/or community services would be highly regarded but not essential.
