The Opportunity

We are working with a learning institution based in Melbourne’s inner Eastern suburbs on a major digital transformation program of work and require an Enterprise Architect to join the team. This is an initial 6 month contract and a hybrid role with 2 days per week required onsite.

As an experienced Enterprise Architect you will work on site as part of the program and be custodian of the technology strategy and roadmap and are expected to stay abreast of innovative and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, learning areas leaders and school leaders to capture the current state technology landscape and desired future state
  • Establish an architecture practice (virtual team, framework, tools) with a strong focus on facilitating the desired business outcome and informed decision-making
  • Leverage industry expertise and best practices to develop and maintain currency of the school’s “current state,” “future state” architecture and roadmap
  • Define and implement architecture governance and principles
  • Evangelise and share architectural best practices across all levels
  • Provide thought leadership and evangelise and share architectural best practices across all levels
  • Collaborate with lead solution engineers to ensure technology selection, solution design and any trade-offs are effectively managed and reflected in the architecture
  • Maintain currency on trends and emerging technology innovations in the school (Kindergarten to year 12) sector
  • Collaborate with a broad set of stakeholders and customers so diverse perspectives and needs are incorporated into the architecture plan and roadmap
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships throughout the school community.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • 5- 10 years in technology, digital and/or transformation domain
  • Previous experience in establishing an enterprise architecture practice
  • Strong working knowledge of an Enterprise Architecture method, best practices, and associated tools (eg, TOGAF)
  • An ability to apply TOGAF and other architectural frameworks to produce and communicate architecture to stakeholders
  • Broad and devise working knowledge of the various technology domains (eg, security, infrastructure, data/applications and business capability domains; depth and expertise in 2-3 domain areas)
  • Proven experience in at least one of the following topics: digital strategy, modern architecture practices, business transformation, modernisation and optimisation
  • An understanding of applications development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture
  • Experience in aligning digital transformation to architecture roadmaps
  • Detailed understanding of data privacy and privacy laws, and how they relate to technology solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile ways of working, LEAN, Human Centred Design, and supporting processes, principles and design capabilities
  • Highly skilled in vendor management and assessing vendor offerings against business outcomes and requirements
  • Advanced interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills and ease of navigating between business, customer and technical audiences and perspectives
