The role of the Assistant Accountant is to support with the preparation of monthly accounting entries, manage monthly corporate credit card reconciliation, monthly balance sheet reconciliation and work with a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement process improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Preparation of month end accounting entries for CRG entities
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances in a timely manner
- Liaise with the Commercial Finance team to ensure month end postings are complete
- Review accuracy of accruals and assist in the preparation of the monthly P&L
- Assist in the preparation of monthly consolidated reports and board packs
- Understand risk and opportunities on the balance sheet
- Assist external auditors to complete their annual audit process on time
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for CRG entities
- Preparation of Wholesale related journals and reconciliations
- Preparation of ABS surveys
- Ad hoc reports/duties as required
Key Capabilities
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or related
- Experience using Oracle, exposure to Futura/Magenta POS advantageous but not essential
- Stakeholder management, strong communication skills written and verbal
- Exceptional attention to detail and eye for process improvement
- Previous experience in retail or similar industry is highly desirable
- A team player who enjoys collaborating with others
