The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Security Consultant to join our team, responsible for cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance services. In this role, you will perform cybersecurity risk assessments, provide advisory services, consult on security matters, and contribute to the development and updating of cybersecurity standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Security Assurance Manager, you will play a vital role in assessing the security risks associated with various technology solutions, including applications, tools, processes, and third-party hosted solutions. You will collaborate with business owners to determine appropriate security control requirements for information assets, ensuring alignment with technology security policies and standards. Additionally, you will conduct cybersecurity due diligence on third-party service providers and contribute to remediation activities for cybersecurity-related issues identified in audits and assurance reviews. You will also contribute to the development and communication of security-related policies, standards, and guidelines, and provide security consultation to both technology and business teams. Furthermore, you will participate in establishing and maintaining a governance and assurance framework for security policies, processes, and controls, and benchmark security practices of other organizations to stay updated on industry best practices.

About You

The ideal candidate will have industry certifications in information security disciplines such as CISSP or CISA, along with a degree qualification in a relevant technical or business discipline. You should have subject matter expertise in security risk assessment, assurance, technical security controls, governance, and reporting. Experience in networking, cloud, and application administration would be advantageous, as well as knowledge of the Australian Signals Directorate’s Information Security Manual, particularly for those with experience in working for Federal Government Agencies. Strong documentation skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to solve complex problems are essential for success in this role.
