About the role

We are excited to announce that we are on the lookout for a Global Logistics Coordinator responsible for managing and overseeing the global supply chain operations for all of OBI. This role involves coordinating the efficient movement of goods, ensuring compliance with international and domestic trade regulations, and optimizing logistics processes to meet operational goals. 

The coordinator will work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products worldwide, to be based in Welshpool, Perth working Mondays – Fridays.

What you will be doing

  • Ensures compliance with Orica’s SH&E and Procurement policy and governance including in utilising preferred suppliers list;
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize the global supply chain;
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure smooth transportation of goods;
  • Manage and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, provide updates to relevant stakeholders;
  • Schedule and oversee the transportation of goods via air, sea, and land;
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including customs, import/export laws, and other regulatory requirements;
  • Prepare and process required shipping and export documentation;
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and adjust logistics practices accordingly;
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

What you will bring

  • Experienced in global freight practices;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to achieve effective and logistics practices;
  • Excellent communication and negotiations skills;
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with a demonstrated ability to enforce protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness;
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence;
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, transportation management systems).
  • The Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is a plus.
