The Role:
Ventia are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to Join our SAPMICM (South Australian Prisoner Movement and In-Court Management) Contract.

As a critical member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), you’ll be primarily responsible for supporting the Head of Operations to develop and deliver the SAPMICM contract across South Australia. The role ensures the contract operates in accordance with core legislation pivotal to operating a compliant business. In addition, this role oversees liaison with all client agencies ensuring effective and collaborative communication with all relevant parties. 

This position is a full-time role based at our Cavan office. This role reports to the contracts Head of Operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Senior Management Team in delivering the operational solution across the SAPMICM contract. 
  • Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards through audits, documentation and training.
  • Ensure best practise is embedded with the highest standard of governance, quality & compliance across all departments within the SAPMICM contract.
  • Training & Development of staff and drive resilience within the structure of the senior and middle management team.
  • Promote community engagement across the SAPMICM contract with respective bodies and organisations throughout South Australia. 
  • Remain well informed regarding best practice trends in service provision and innovative support practices that align with the key principles of Correctional Services. 
  • Be the focal point for liaison with the Department of Correctional Services, CAA, DHS and South Australian Police. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated management experience in an operational environment. (Required) 
  • Previous experience with Department of Correctional Services or similar. (highly regarded) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Personable and professional, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased and balanced in challenging environments.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (excel, Microsoft Office, TEAMS etc). 

Must be eligible to hold a Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
